Two Recent Drawings

Last week’s model……….. my choice was to draw the model from the back. Note this drawing was done with a pastel pencil on Strathmore 500 Charcoal paper

It’s not common for me to use a pastel pencil, however it does allow some movement and picking up of the pigment. I often use charcoal or a red or blue colored pencil….. always coming back to charcoal due to the latter’s ability to redo passages until the major planes are defined……. at least the best that I can do on a given evening and with the allotted time, usually 30 to 40 minutes.
